Explore the vineyards, learn what to taste for, understand how to pair foods with wine and enjoy the sights and smells of eight different wineries on this three day adventure.

Enjoy a tasting at several of the area’s finest wineries as we develop our skills with this intense three day look at the fine art of wine tasting. Your wine tasting skills will be broadened. Enjoy a walk through the vineyards on a late summer day, dine al fresco with the colors of the fields behind you and relax in fine area restaurants at the end of the day.

Wine Camp provides intense interaction with your counselors as we travel with you throughout the Central PA countryside. All transportation is provided for your two day tour. According to Carl Kosko Camp Counselor at the Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast, "No need to bring the sleeping bag, your “Counselors” will provide all provisions for your stay; including rooms of distinction, one of a kind amenities, breakfast to brag about and host with a penchant towards making their “campers” content.” He continues by saying, “Our Bed and Breakfasts offer our guest unparalleled service.”

TAKE A WALK ON THE GREEN SIDE OF LANCASTER

A Culinary Diversion: The many faces of Herbs

Lancaster: As green spreads across the rolling farmland of Lancaster County, spring brings fresh promises of new beginnings. On Saturday, May 10, three area bed and breakfasts will guide tourists and locals on a path sure to please all five senses.

With the help of local experts and nurseries, they will explore all facets of herbs – starting with aesthetically pleasing additions to gardens, whether in containers, traditional herb gardens or intermingled with favorite perennial partners.

They’ll learn the medicinal properties, new ways to use both the fragrance and taste of herbs and finish the day with a feast of a five-course herb-inspired dinner on Saturday night.

Not to be overlooked is the obvious “green” benefit of growing your own herbs and having them at hand whenever the inspiration arrives to make your own salad dressing, marinade, seasoning, or add an element of crisp flavor to any dish. The fresh quality will certainly be the favored alternative to driving to the local store and buying plastic-encased herbs that have sat in warehouses, trucked across the country, or shipped from outside the US.

The package is offered at $250 per couple and includes all tours, tastings, lunch, dinner and transportation. The event is open to the public. Guests can arrange to stay at any of the bed and breakfasts and receive a special herb-inspired gift basket.

CHEF PRUDHOMME’S CAJUN LEGACY THRIVES IN LANCASTER COUNTY

Lancaster County Celebrates its “Southern Bayou” Connection with Mystery, Food and Fun.

Locals and tourist alike celebrate as three Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast and Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen team up to put together a weekend filled with intrigue, fine food and great fun. Local Innkeepers say that a sudden demand for epicurean experiences has dictated this new twist on last years popular Cajun Event.

The excitement begins on Friday night July 11th with a “getting to know you evening” filled with intrigue and mystery at the Artist’s Inn. Listen closely to the clues as we dive into this Cajun themed murder mystery. Wear your beads and face mask to this one, for your hosts have planned a suspenseful evening.

David and Sharon Prudhomme, owners of Prudhomme’s Lost Cajun Kitchen, prepare Cajun food in the style of David’s uncle, Chef Paul Prudhomme from Louisiana. Known for his many best-selling cookbooks and exploration of spices, this flamboyant chef was responsible for sharing the love of his home cuisine with the rest of the world, teaching us not only the magic of the food, but the magic of the people of the region as well.

On Saturday, we’ll be dining alfresco at the Harvest Moon, when a little bit of Cajun country comes to New Holland. Sharon Prudhomme will demonstrate Cajun cooking and why it is as much fun to prepare as it is to eat. She’ll share tips on how you can make these dishes at home.

Cost is $175 per couple and includes the murder mystery dinner, Saturday lunch, a welcome gift and party hats and beads.  So, grab your friends and head to Lancaster County - Cajun Country is closer than you think!

PROHIBITION IN LANCASTER COUNTY?

LEARN ABOUT BEER- PAST, PRESENT AND THE FUTURE – LANCASTER COUNTY STYLE

Lancaster, PA: Did you know that Lancaster was once known as the Little Munich of America? Or that 75% of America’s pretzels are made within 100 miles of Lancaster County?

Learn more on an adventure through Lancaster County’s back roads and explore two local pretzel factories and two micro-breweries. Learn about the early days of brewing with true tales of gangsters, bootlegging and how the locals successfully defied Prohibition.

The Artist's Inn and The Harvest Moon Bed and Breakfast, have orchestrated an entertaining weekend on June 20 and 21 and then again on August 15 and 16. Jack Loose will set the mood with colorful reminiscences of beer-making, and the group will sample some of Lancaster’s pretzels – both soft and hard with local pretzel makers. Of course, the tour would not be complete without a stop at Sturgis Pretzel Factory, site of America’s first introduction to pretzels. The journey continues to Union Barrel Works to tour their facility and experience their top-rated beer.

Stoudt’s Brewery in Adamstown is the final stop, where host Ed Stoudt will acquaint guests with his award-winning brews and provide a tour of his brewery. An outstanding dinner at Stoudt’s Black Angus restaurant will finish the day, complete with, you guessed it, beer (or wine). There’s no need for a designated driver because guests will be transported by a professional service.

$250.00 per couple covers the cost of all tours, lectures, tastings, a light lunch, dinner, and transportation. Lodging is additional to the cost of the package; guests who decide to lodge will receive a special gift. This event is open to anyone over age 21.
